Thomson and Thompson

Thomson and Thompson are two bungling Scotland Yard and Interpol detectives. They are also known as the 'Thom(p)son Twins', however they are not twins and have differing surnames; Thompson with a 'p' and Thomson with out a 'p'.

They can be distinguished by their moustaches. Thom[p]son's moustache is straight while Thomson's turns up

In French they are know as Dupont with a 't' [Thomson's - turned up moustache] and Dupond with a 'd' [Thompson's - straight moustache]

They first appear in Cigars of the Pharaoh where they were know by codenames, X33 (Thompson) and X33A (Thomson).
